Appeal to Patrons

The ensemble of the Vasilian Monastery with the Church of the Holy Trinity is one of the most ancient architectural monuments of Vilnius.

In 2018, Father Vincent Pelykh, Abbot of the Ukrainian Monastery and Temple of the Holy Trinity in Vilnius, addressed us at: 7b Ausros Vartu Street, asking for help in decorating the temple space with artistic stained glass. The monastery and the temple stand on the main religious street of Vilnius, where churches, monasteries of different denominations are located. Lithuania is making great efforts to preserve the building’s exterior and decoration, but unfortunately, no funds are allocated for either Lithuania or Ukraine for the interior decoration of this historic and beautiful Temple. Only sponsorship donations are possible.

The Holy Trinity Church and the monastery are unique structures that represent a common cultural heritage. They belonged to the only metropolis in Europe at the crossroads of two civilizations – the Latin and Byzantine worlds. The fate of the temple and monastery of the Holy Trinity, in fact, reflects the whole history of the Metropolitanate of Kiev. This spiritual center is directly connected with the activities of the known ascetics and saints of the Orthodox and Union Churches. The stone church of the Holy Trinity, built in the sixteenth century at the expense of one of the greatest political figures of the time, Orthodox Prince Constantine Ostrozsky, is a fine example of the sacred architecture of the Renaissance era. At the Trinity Church there was an Orthodox monastery, a fraternity of the same name, a theological and public school, an outstanding printing house, where the first East Slavic grammar was published.

Our specialists together with scientists of Ukraine and Lithuania have done a great deal of work to create the concept of the project, which is approved by the Commission for the Restoration of Architectural Monuments of Lithuania. With ornamental window frames, the main focus is stained glass medallions with images of saints, statesmen and laymen, the best examples of the monastery printing house, heraldry. Icons and portraits of famous people are not accidental. They have a history of construction.

At the bottom of each stained glass there is a place where there will be an inscription in Ukrainian and Lithuanian to thank the patrons with the memorable text that the patrons themselves want to see, which will remain in the memory of people and the history of the building for many centuries.

It is planned to issue special information leaflets for visitors, sightseers, parishioners with a description of all the stained glass windows, patrons’ names (optional), which is the history not only of the temple, but of our states.
In the temple of 14 windows size 6000 * 2000. Before each stained glass is an additional stained glass medallion of size 1800 * 1400
The cost of one set (one window) is equivalent to 17,000 euros (VAT included). The names of all philanthropists (optional), regardless of the amount of the contribution, will be recorded in the thanksgiving book kept in the Temple. With contributions of 500 euros, the patron receives a commemorative commemorative certificate of thanks. If you pay for a full window with one patron or group, the cost is equivalent to EUR 13600 (VAT included). Receives a commemorative certificate, a copy of the monograph “At the Crossroads of Cultures” issued in 2017 in limited edition (Ukrainian, optional). We have also designed and executed a forged panicadilla with an overall dimensions of 4000 x 2500 and with stained glass lamps, which are symbols of an unwavering faith in God. It is necessary to make another 3 such panicadillas. The cost of each is equivalent to 11,000 euros (VAT included). When entering the amount for the whole panic, the cost is equivalent to 9900 euros (VAT included).
Established stained-glass windows and chandeliers from the families of patrons: Pavlovs, Makusevs, Saharovs, Zaitsevs, Polio
MAK-SAV Ltd., its employees have completed all the creative part of the work for free, which is our contribution in support of the outstanding architectural and historical monument. Director and founder of MAK-SAV LLC, Irina Makuseva made the first of the stained-glass windows at the expense of her family. Patrons assisted in the production of three more stained glass windows.
Today the Temple has already installed a chandelier with stained glass lamps (chandelier) and four windows.

It is possible to make a personal contribution and leave your name in the restoration of a unique building of the sixteenth century. Not yet completed 10 stained glass windows and 3 forged panicadil.
